“Treat others as you would like them to treat you.”
Paraphrased from Matt 7:12 and Luke 6:31
This is the motto for the Manners Matter Etiquette Club for the 3rd through 6th grade girls.
Each meeting is started by repeating this motto. Last week the girls not only recited the motto, they practiced it on their own. Several of the members found me in the library to tell me there were two new girls at school and they wanted my permission to invite them to join the M & Ms. “Of course,” I said. At 11:30 the new girls were escorted to the meeting by the club members. After the program, I asked all the girls what they would especially like to learn at future meetings. They unanimously said they thought we should repeat all the classes we had done earlier, so that the new girls could catch up.

Now that is what I call treating others as you would like others to treat you.
