This Thursday, the United States will be celebrating the National Day of Prayer. Whatever your religion, I think celebrating this day is a great way to give thanks. With the hustle and bustle of our busy lives, it’s easy to forget to give thanks and pray. Whether you worship God, Jesus, Buddha, Krishna or a Divine Presence a National Day of Prayer benefits all.
I’d like to share with you a personal reminder that I use to keep the National Day of Prayer alive in my mind all through the year. I set my phone alarm to ring every hour during the day. I choose a nice harp tone for the ring. Each hour when the alarm goes off on my phone, I take a minute to pray and re-center. I give thanks.
Try it. You might find as I did that the power of consistent, focused prayer makes a difference in your daily activities and interactions. In addition, I think you will see a difference in your life.
