Jan Shoop, M.Ed.
Jan Shoop has spent her entire career finding a better way to teach, administer schools and support parents. From inner city public schools to acclaimed magnet schools, charter and alternative schools, Ms. Shoop has served a classroom teacher, consultant, principal and superintendent. She has designed curriculum, teaching strategies, and teaching materials and has trained teachers and parents in the art and science of boosting students' ability to "do", thereby increasing their scores and feelings of self worth.
Ms. Shoop believes strongly in educating each child on an individual level in order to best utilize their talents and grow their potential. No child is the same, therefore education must be tailor made to fit each student. Ms. Shoop combines her excellent education with her vast professional experience as a teacher, administrator, and successful businesswoman to provide all students the opportunity to succeed.
Her ability to reach the unreachable student is a testament to her caring and nurturing. She has worked with some of the toughest students in Arizona and throughout the United States. Ms. Shoop embraces the challenge of working with at-risk students, helping them achieve goals they didn't think were possible.
Ms. Shoop has been the keynote speaker at many educational conferences, Rotary, Kwanis, and Lions Club meetings both in the United States and Internationally.
Ms. Shoop co-facilitated the inaugural StarShine Field School Teacher Training in Monrovia, Liberia in August of 2009, for over 800 Liberian teachers and administrators. She also facilitated a similar training in London, England in May 2010.
