I have so many great
memories of my time spent at StarShine. I would like to share a few with you:
Maria, coming to my rescue, once again, when I forgot the
lemonade for the girls’ Etiquette Class.
Mr. Dan’s kindergarten class, making me so proud, when they
sang songs to guests I brought.
Brenda Combs, second grade teacher, singing Gospel songs with
her Latino students.
Trish McCarty, founder and CEO of StarShine, for letting me
be her second “Mom”.
Watching a troubled girl, who came to StarShine and found
happiness and success, working in the flower garden.
The Fashion Girls hugging me and saying, “thanks” at their
graduation.
Most of all, for my loving daughter Jan Shoop, who made me
believe I could be a good volunteer at StarShine, partner a blog, and write a
book in my late seventies.
