StarShine Academy has a
new third, fourth, fifth grade teacher this year, Mr. Frank Dawson.
I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Dawson during the week that
the StarShine School was put in a moving van and moved to their new location. I
loved the sign on the side of one of the moving trucks that read, ‘StarShine In a Box’. Moving can be a
harrowing experience, but there was an abundance of excitement and good humor.
Mr. Dawson also serves as Dean of Students. He is an awesome
teacher and individual, who expects and receives respect and courteous behavior
from his students. Taking a break, we sat on a bench, in the foyer of the
building temporarily housing the classrooms, and talked about his teaching
philosophy and also about his interesting life.
I shared some of my experiences
volunteering at StarShine.
I recently wrote a post about dressing appropriately. (Dress and Perception) Mr. Dawson is
the epitome of the well dressed man. He wears a suit and tie every day to
school. He sets a perfect example to the students and you can see the respect
he has earned.
Welcome to StarShine,
Mr. Dawson.
