March 15th – Absolutely Incredible Kids Day
Yes, there is an Absolutely Incredible Kids Day and it
is this week. Now how many absolutely
incredible kids do you know? Beside your
own, of course, I know 125 and I get to visit with them twice a week at
StarShine Academy!
Here are some “kid quotes”…not by adults about kids,
but what kids have actually said:
“I’m glad I’m finally 8.
This is the oldest I’ve ever been in my entire life.”
“There’s no-one in there,”
a child’s response to seeing his father hanging pictures and tapping on the
walls to find the support beam.
From a 3 year old son,
when his mother asked how his father knew the genders of four new baby kittens,
“Daddy picked them up and looked underneath. I think it’s printed on the
bottom.”
“And lead us not into
temptation, but deliver us some e-mail,” a 4 year old, misquoting the Lord’s
Prayer.
My favorite is a StarShine
student, a little girl, who walked into Mrs. Shoop’s office and said, “My tooth
is falling down.”
I have a nephew, who lives in Ann Arbor, Michigan with
his wife and three children. In every Christmas letter he adds quotes by the
children. Here are a few, mostly by the
youngest, Jack:
“There are some things
only a mother can do. It’s like they have a special power.”
“I don’t need a
sweatshirt. I’m hot blooded.”
“I looked at our house on the satellite map
just to see it.”
As he walked past his pile
of laundry on the stairs, “I’m sorry, my head’s way up here and the pile of
laundry is way down there.”
“I only need my extra
padded socks when I’m feeling down.”
