Take Time To Be With A
Child
“A child’s life is like a piece of paper on which every person leaves a
mark.” Chinese Proverb
Now that summer is upon us and school is out, I will not be volunteering
and mentoring students. In thinking about these children, I went, once again,
to one of my favorite little inspiration books, “To a Child Love is Spelled
T-I-M-E.” I would like to share some
quotes, from the book, with you.
v “Time, indeed is a sacred gift, and
each day is a little life.” John Lubbock
v “Encouragement is oxygen to the
soul.” George Adams
v “All children are artists, and it is
an indictment of our culture that so many of them lose their creativity, their
unfettered imaginations, as they grow older.” Madeleine L’Engle
v “It isn’t the big pleasures that
count the most; it is making a great deal out of the little ones.” Anonymous
v “The great man is he who does not
lose his child’s heart.” Mencius
A very special moment
happened to me last week. I received birthday greetings from Carla and Gerry,
two graduates of the school where I volunteered. They both have been a
wonderful part of my volunteer life. I am so thankful for the time I have had
to interact with them and all the other children.
