May 3, 2012 – The National
Day of Prayer
“Lord, make me an instrument of Thy Peace. Where there is hatred, let me
sow love, where there is injury, pardon; whence there is doubt, faith; where there
is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light; and where there is sickness,
joy.” St. Francis of Assisi
This year the National Day of Prayer falls on Thursday, May 3,
2012. If you would like more information on the National Day of Prayer and the
importance of prayer, here are two great websites, National Day of Prayer and Arizona Interfaith Movement

Last year, I wrote a post about the importance of the
National Day of Prayer.
In that post, I described a practice I have had for several years of setting an
alarm to go off each hour to remind me to take a moment to pray and reflect. I still take that moment to pray each hour.
On days when things are hectic, taking that moment slows me down and helps me
rethink my priorities. On days when things are quiet, it gives me time to
reflect and give gratitude for everything in my life.
I’m wondering if anyone else
takes a moment each hour to pray. Let me know, I would love to hear your
thoughts.
“Certain thought are prayers. There are moments when, whatever be the attitude
of the body, the soul is on its knees.” Victor Hugo
